The Gay Men's Peer Counseling
group of Whitman Walker Clinic organizes 10-week coming out
groups for gay men, led by two co-facilitators. The groups
meet for 90 minutes once a week, and address issues such as:
Meeting people
Dating
Sex
Coming out to family
Coming out in the workplace
Relationships and gay couples
Other topics of interest to participants
Some of the sessions include guest speakers.
All are welcome, and participants often range in age from
20s to 50s, including men coming out of marriage. Participants
are asked to commit to attending each of the 10 sessions,
if at all possible. Participants are also asked to make a
donation of $10 per session -- $100 total – to Whitman
Walker Clinic for participation.
